A quick, fun, and wholesome frozen treat perfect for hot days, after-school snacks, or guilt-free desserts. These chocolate dipped banana bites are easy to make, kid-friendly, and endlessly customizable with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe bananas (firm, not overripe)

  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)

  • Toppings of your choice:

    • Chopped nuts

    • Shredded coconut

    • Crushed graham crackers

    • Sprinkles

    • Mini chocolate chips

    • Sea salt flakes

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Peel and slice the bananas into ½-inch thick rounds. Arrange them on the baking sheet in a single layer.

  • Freeze the banana slices for at least 1 hour.

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.

  • Remove the banana slices from the freezer. Use a fork or tongs to dip each slice into the melted chocolate, covering half or all of the slice.

  • Immediately sprinkle desired toppings over the wet chocolate before it hardens.

  • Place dipped slices back on the parchment-lined tray.

  • Freeze again for 30 minutes or until chocolate is set.

  • Store in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use firm bananas for easier dipping and better texture.

  • Coconut oil helps the chocolate melt smoothly but is optional.

  • Make a double batch to keep on hand for quick snacks or desserts.

  • Let bites sit at room temperature for 3–5 minutes before eating for best texture.
