A quick, fun, and wholesome frozen treat perfect for hot days, after-school snacks, or guilt-free desserts. These chocolate dipped banana bites are easy to make, kid-friendly, and endlessly customizable with your favorite toppings.
2 large ripe bananas (firm, not overripe)
1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
Toppings of your choice:
Chopped nuts
Shredded coconut
Crushed graham crackers
Sprinkles
Mini chocolate chips
Sea salt flakes
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Peel and slice the bananas into ½-inch thick rounds. Arrange them on the baking sheet in a single layer.
Freeze the banana slices for at least 1 hour.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
Remove the banana slices from the freezer. Use a fork or tongs to dip each slice into the melted chocolate, covering half or all of the slice.
Immediately sprinkle desired toppings over the wet chocolate before it hardens.
Place dipped slices back on the parchment-lined tray.
Freeze again for 30 minutes or until chocolate is set.
Store in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to serve.
Use firm bananas for easier dipping and better texture.
Coconut oil helps the chocolate melt smoothly but is optional.
Make a double batch to keep on hand for quick snacks or desserts.
Let bites sit at room temperature for 3–5 minutes before eating for best texture.
